India hockey dumps Pakistan in Commonwealth Games 2010

Clash between India and Pakistan on the hockey field with a sell-out crowd is one of the CWG highlights so far.

Indian hockey team beat Pakistan, 7-4 in the Quarter Final match of the ongoing XIX Commonwealth Games here on Sunday. The win secures India hokey team into the second Semi Final round, as it registered a convincing win over arch rival Pakistan.

As the two teams will go head to head at the sell-out crowd of Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on Sunday, it again brings into focus the stock oIf famous Indian hockey. The first half displays Indian hockey team's aggressiveness by scoring 4-0 on the first 20 minutes. Pakistan came up close in the second half but not close enough to snatch it from India.

India will play against England in the second semi-final match of Men’s hockey competition on Monday.

It is the most anticipated game between two neighboring country, as it attracted also political personalities. Congress General Secretary Rahul GandhiRahul Gandhi, was spotted sitting among ordinary spectators surrounded by discreet security. Congress President Sonia GandhiSonia Gandhi were present here at the stadium to support the Indian hockey team.
